The city of Manchester is a large city with a population of around 400,000. Located on the northern side of England, Manchester is known for its large buildings and companies, many of which are centred around St. Peter's Square, in the heart of Manchester.

Standing to the south of the square you will find Manchester's G-Mex Exhibition Centre, which hosts many notable events throughout the city's calendar. To the east of this area, the Chinatown district of Manchester is known for its oriental architecture and superb Asian restaurants, while the Gay Village region is famed for its nightlife and good selection of bars.

On the northeastern side of Manchester, the landscaped Piccadilly Gardens provide an important area of green, while the nearby Northern Quarter offers a selection of trendy shops and cafés. One of the city's top tourist attractions, the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry is situated in the Castlefield district, close to the cathedral. Regular trams run to the southwest from central Manchester, connecting the Salford Quays and Old Trafford, Manchester United's world-famous football stadium.
